1. Restaurant. What better way to spend some romantic time than over food? Maybe you're at the fancy restaurant in town, or maybe you just couldn't afford anything nice, so you're at the nearest diner. Or maybe somewhere in between?

When he looked up from his drink and spotted Mac of all people headed toward his table. Harriet had to be kidding. He and Mac already tried this once, and it didn't work out for one major reason his career.

But he stood, and pulled out her chair for her. At the very least they could catch up.

"Colonel," he picked the rank, as he still wasn't sure where he stood after that slap in the face, "it's nice to see you again."

Mac smiled, albeit tightly. She is still reeling over the fact that Harriet, her supposed best friend set her up like this. It just proved that Harriet knew her too well. Clayton Webb, and how they ended up kept her up at nights.

Her biggest regret is ending things the way she did. That whole period in her life was one big what if. Would she have made different choices, been happier?

"Not anymore," She spoke quietly, but still firm. "Just Sarah or Mac if you prefer," She settled into her chair. "It's been a long time, Clay or is it Director Webb by now?"

At least he knew who won that damned coin toss. It was a stupid way to decide the future, in Webb's opinion, but he supposed it made sense in the grand scheme of Rabb.

Though he nodded when she said she wasn't a Colonel anymore. "Hearings are next week." And that was really all he was going to say about that in a public place.

"How have you been?"

Sarah raised an eyebrow at Clay, as she picked up a drink menu. "Congratulations? I mean you want this, right?" She said shaking her head at herself.

So much for starting easy.

"Sorry, you don't have to answer that. It's none of my business really, hasn't been for a long time," She held his eye as she spoke before looking away and toying with the rim of her glass nervously.

Mac laughed, an almost sad, manic laugh. "The short version is I'm back in DC because Chloe's at Georgetown and Harm... well he's not in DC."

"I do." And there were a number of reasons for it, not the least of which is being able to give his mother an answer regarding what happened to his father all those years ago.

"Is she?" At least it would keep him off the topic of Rabb for the time being. Webb wasn't surprised that Rabb wasn't in DC. God forbid he think of someone else besides himself, or what's in it for him. "What's she studying?"

Sarah smiled at Clay as she sipped her wine. She closed her eyes, slowly savoring the taste of the wine. "You're happy about it, actually happy. It's nice," Mac spoke, folding her hands on the table once she set her glass down.

"Law and criminal justice. She isn't sure about the courtroom yet, but she likes the investigative side. Do you really want to hear about Chloe, Clay?"

"I finally get to tell my mother what happened."

His father's fate is one of the reasons he became an agent, realizing his lifelong goal would make him happy. He nods in regards to Chloe's studies, "I think she'll like it. She has someone to learn from at least."

He wanted to ask how than stupid coin toss worked out, but he thought better of it. Besides, that could be rude. The last thing he wanted was to be considered rude.
